INSTRUCTIONS

Task 1
We are expected to create a physical collage, taking the elements from old magazines or any printed materials. However, I do not have any access to any magazines, so I used printed materials instead.

These are the materials that I got:

From there we are expected to create three different composition ideas from the elements that we got. This is to be reviewed during class.

Fig 1.1: Idea 2

Fig 1.3: Idea 3

From the feedback given by Mr Martin and classmates, the best one was the first idea of composition. However, there are some elements from the other ideas that would be better to be put together with the first idea. So the final outcome of the first task is:

Task 2
For task 2, instead of physical collage, we are asked to create a digital collage with the element that have been provided by Mr Martin and Mr Fauzi. Same as the first task 1, create 3 different compositional ideas:

Before starting, from the lectures, Mr Martin have demonstrated us ways to remove backgrounds, add adjustment filters and so on to be able to create these digital collages.

These are the steps that I took before creating the compositions:

I started the task by removing all the backgrounds from all the elements given. Then started to create different composition from it:

Fig x.x: Idea 3

Then after reviewing it in class, Mr Martin said that the first idea has the most potential on being a composition of collage. However, it is better to have the train to go down towards the building as if it's going to crash to the building. Which then results in the last final outcome:
