INSTRUCTIONS

Exercise 3: Kinetic Typography
We are given the task for project 2 during week 2. As a group, we were asked to create a lyric video using After Effects. The song that we choose is P!nk - So What. The song was given by Mr. Martin, with the lyrics that have been broken down per line. Then as a group, we divided parts of the lyrics to each member.

After splitting our parts, we chose the color scheme and fonts to be used for our lyric video. It is used to keep every part under the same theme.

For the animating process, I have used basic animation such as position, scale, masking, null object. As my personal preference, I love to use the position tool to transition from one line to the other.

Exercise 4: Chart Motion Graphic

Each class member was assigned to animate different types of charts. I got assigned to animate a bar chart that cover data of businesses that were affected by Covid-19. The steps were pretty straightforward as we were given a presentation that shows us how to make the charts.

I have done the things that are shown in the presentation.

We are told to use trim paths to animate the graph. However, I use trim paths for the x-axis and y-axis too. Other than trim paths, I use a very basic motion graphic effect, opacity. It is to show the category of the data collected.

REFLECTION

From this project, I got to learn new animating tools that can be used. First is a null object where you can link layers to a null object and how to use trim paths. I underestimated the workload of this project and did not realize it sooner. I hope that from this I could learn that animation took a long time.
