Task 2

INSTRUCTIONS

Task 2A: Key Artwork
For this task, we are expected to create artwork that behaves like a logo. The logo is used to identify an event/person. For this task, Mr. Vinod recommended we use our initials and explore combinations of the initials.

My name is Ataka Hamzah so, the logo will consist of the letters A and H.

Fig 1.1: References

Because I come from Indonesia and grow up in Indonesia, I wanted to take references something from Indonesia. So I took the Sundanese script as the reference. Also, to show that it is related to me, I wanted to create the logo to be the logo of a company that talks or has relations with games (my hobby).

Fig 1.2: Exploring possibilities

After exploring the possibilities that can be used as the logo, I decided to go with the first design.

Task 2B: Collateral
1. Poster
Because of the logo I wanted to make it like an event for game tournaments. There are things that I should put on the poster as the information for the reader. I decided to put, the winning prize, date, the games that will be played in the tournaments, entry fee, and how to register and contact number.

Fig 1.5: First attempt

After the first attempt, I asked for feedback from my peers. They gave me feedback on the text, to use a lighter color so that, it can much more readable. So I change the text color.

Fig 1.7: Third Attempt

For the third attempt, I tried to add a drop shadow to give more depth to the poster.

Fig 1.8: Fourth Attempt

After looking at the thirrd attempt, I decided to change the design of the poster to make it have a more gaming look. I use photoshopto create the poster and add gradient background and texture that I got from google. Also I decided to make the the text in a grid system rather than using the axial system.

2. Animated Invite
Fig 2.0: Animation Process

Fig 2.1: Animation Process 2

For the animation it is pretty straight forward, what I did was take the elements from the poster and use basic animation technique such as scale, positioning and offset. The challenging part was creating the neon tracing for the logo at the last part.

3. Collaterals

#1 Mousepad
Fig 2.3: Mousepad Collateral - JPEG

Because my theme is gaming, I wanted to make a mock up of something relateed to it. So I decided to make a mockup design of mousepad for gamers.

#2 Wrist Band

Because this will be a tournament event, I wanted the players to have a pass inside the venue.
