Task 3: Type Exploration & Application

In the first part of the task, we are expected to explore problems that need solutions that can be fixed with fonts.

These are some of my ideas on several problems (proposal).


I decided to go with the fashion magazines. The problem is that we have seen the same fonts over and over that are used as the title or the brand of the magazines. It would be nice if there are some changes to the fonts, seasonally.

After working in Adobe Illustrator, I moved the fonts into FontForge to be exported and saved as fonts that can be installed.

After finishing up with exporting into a working font. I proceed to create the typeface application. These are some of the references I took when creating the magazine cover. 




Then, moving on to creating the poster. Because the color of the photographs has a vintage vibe to it. I decided to choose a color scheme that would go well with it. Then proceed with creating the poster.

We are told to create a minimalist poster defining the decisive moment of the scene from an existing narrative. Also we are expected to create a looping animated gif of the design. The first movie came into my mind is The Conjuring Universe movies. It is a movie that I have been repeat watching a lot in my free time. There are some scenes that came into my mind, the first scene was from the first conjuring, the hide and clap scene.
